Association of Medical Professionals with Hearing Loss Wants Your Help to Establish State Chapters
The Association of Medical Professionals with Hearing Loss (AMPHL) is hoping to establish state-level chapters. Please see the attached brochures for more information about this grassroots non-profit organization. The AMPHL Board is asking for help in identifying people in each state who have hearing loss of any level and are employed (or working toward employment) in a medical field (which also includes Nursing/Counseling/PT/OT/Veterinary Sciences/Dentistry/Naturopathy, etc.). If you know of others in these fields, please put them in contact with AMPHL.
Even if individuals are not interested in holding a statewide organizational office, membership in this group is invaluable and a great way to stay on top of current rehabilitation technology (amplified stethoscopes, clear surgical masks, videophones, captioning support, etc.) and to get peer support. The 2011 AMPHL national conference, held in Portland, Oregon, was attended by professionals from as far away as Australia and was quite a success.
Your help in spreading this information to others who can help with recruitment (Vocational Rehabilitation, postsecondary educational programs in these fields, state Boards, professional organizations, HLAA and State Associations for the Deaf, etc.) would be GREAT LY appreciated! Pass the word about the chapters-in-development and encourage people to contact AMPHL directly at email@example.com<mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org>.
