- Feeling short of breath
- Severe pain in lower back
- Rapid weight gain
- Red or swollen gums

- Urinating less than normal
- Severe pain in upper stomach

What should I avoid while taking Nitrofurantoin?
Nitrofurantoin is an antibiotic used to treat the fungal infections. It may cause diarrhea, that might be an indication of new infection. If you find bloody stools or watery stools, inform your doctor about the symptoms. Do not take any medications to stop the diarrhea on your own.
Avoid taking antacids unless your doctor has not recommended you. As some antacids may interact with the drug and stop its to absorb into the body.
How should I take Nitrofurantoin?

Nitrofurantoin for Bladder Infection: my pharmacist recommended the drug with juice. I took it but don’t know this is first antibiotic which is really not worked on me. I was feeling sleepy all the day even I felt nauseated and tried. Not a good drug to follow.
For Urinary Tract Infection: I was taking Bactrim for my uninary infection, it worked well on me. Than my doc suggested me Nitrofurantoin, he changed the drug just wanted to see its result, though it is an experiment on me but I was ready. I took the drug and my problem got worsed after 3 days. Nitrofurantoin for Urinary Tract Infection: I have given a rating of 7 because its my 4th day on the drug. I am feeling dizziness and nauseated, cant drive properly. Took the med with meals and it worked well. My symptoms are improving, letz hope to get rid of infection soon.
